Roger Ebert
By Dorothea Holloway | April 7, 2013
Yesterday I got a phone call from a friend for years Wolfgang J. Ruf. With emotion Wolfgang said: Roger Ebert died.
To day I read the mournful news in the Tagesspiegel. We knew Roger Ebert, because Roger and Ron came from Chicago. They were fellows, pals, colleagues, they thought highly from each other. Every year we met us in Cannes, every morning to see the competition, every morning “hinten links” – at the back left. The first day I gave Roger our “Cannes Issue” of KINO – German Film and according to our ritual, Roger said: “Now Cannes Festival can start!” Later he only smiled. Roger and Ron are together. Good bless you. – Dorothea
