Patrice Chereau (2. November 1944 – 7. Oktober 2013)

A Glance Back at Berlinale 2001 – from KINO – German Film No: 75 (2001):
Patrice Chereau, famous for his work in theatre and opera, was awarded the Golden Bear for Intimacy. Kerry Fox, the film’s sexobsessed protagonist, received the Silver Bear for Best Actress. And Intimacy was given the Blue Angel Prize for Best European Film. One arresting sequence in the film probes below the surface and defines the sexual liaison for what it really is: loneliness. A controversial film, it’s pervaded with sadness and banality. – Ron and Dorothea Holloway
In DIE ZEIT vom 10. Oktober 2013, hat Daniel Barenboim seines künstlerischen Weggefährten Patrice Chereau gedacht.
