Karlheinz Böhm (1928-2014)

Zum Tode von Karlheinz Böhm (29. Mai 2014) wurden von der ARD zwei “Sissi-Kult-Filme” aus Österreich ins Programm genommen:
Sissi (1955) und Sissi, die junge Kaiserin (1956). Beide Filme hatte ich vorher nicht gesehen und war angetan, ja berührt vom “Traumpaar” der 60ziger Jahre: von Romy Schneider, so natürlich und heiter und von Karlheinz Böhm, dem so sympathischen, gut aussehenden Kaiser Franz Joseph. Auch am 31. Mai gab es im BR ein Gedenken an Karlheinz Böhm:
Von Geza von Radvanyi lief Das Schloss in Tirol (Österreich, 1957), ein Heimatfilm, dieses Mal hießen die Partnerinnen von Böhm Erika Remberg und Maria Andergast. 1959 war Karlheinz Böhm in dem hochgelobten Peeping Tom (Regie: Michael Powell) ein böser Lüstling.

The film became a legend within a few months after its completion and airing on television (28 May 1974) – for the simple reason that Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR Cologne), for which the telefeature was produced, had opted to purchase the literary rights to Cornell Woolrich’s psyycho-thriller “For the Rest of Your Life” for only two broadcasts. […]
As for the story, Martha is about a woman’s oppression by a sadistic husband. It was Fassbinder’s first thematic attempt at a subsequent series of a similar and contrasting “women films” that was to occupy the prolific filmmaker’s attention until his death in 1982.
To rescue the print, the film’s cameraman, Michael Ballhaus, was called upon to restore the colors almost from memory, while at the same time assisting a laboratory team in the striking of a proper print from a new 35mm negative. Ballhaus had all the more reason for assisting on the restoration: Marthacontains a 360° tracking-shot that later was to become the cine-photographer’s Hollywood trademark.
Legendär die 360-Grad-Kamerafahrt von Michael Ballhaus rund um Margit Carstensen und Karlheinz Böhm. Mit Fassbinder arbeitete Böhm viermal zusammen, u. a. in Faustrecht der Freiheit.
Als Böhm in Wetten, dass… 1981 mehr als 1,2 Millionen Mark Spendengeld einsammeln konnte, begann sein unvergessliche Kampf gegen die Armut. Wie nötig hat die Welt solche Menschen! Der großartige Schauspieler flog nach Äthiopien und gründete die Stiftung “Menschen für Menschen”. Brunnen, Strassen, Krankenstationen, Schulen entstanden mit Hilfe des wahren Entwicklungshelfers Karlheinz Böhm. Gott segne ihn.
